Insight paper: The Behavioural Science of Bicycling

We are pleased to be able to share with you the insight paper ‘On Yer Bike: The Behavioural Science of Bicycling’, which was written by ourselves and students on the MSc in Behavioural Economics at City, University of London. The purpose of the Insight Paper is to summarise what is known about the behavioural science around cycling and how this knowledge can be most effectively deployed. Specifically, we discuss the psychological and behavioural factors related to the use of bicycles in everyday life – whether for travel or leisure - and how nudges of various types can be used to encourage more cycling.
